Godrej Consumer (GCPL) has announced that it will enter the pet care business in the country through Godrej Pet Care (GPCL), a subsidiary of the company.
- GCPL will invest Rs 500 crore in this business over a period of five years
- Godrej Agrovet (GAL) will be the manufacturing and R&D partner
- Manufacturing is expected to commence in the second half of FY26
Pet care category in India is estimated at Rs 5,000 cr and expected to grow in double digits over a sustained long period.
This definitely seems an interesting diversification to watch out for.
