In January 2026, Godrej Industries (GL) had formed a new subsidiary Godrej Investment Ltd (GIL).
Now under GIL it has launched group’s wealth management business, Godrej Wealth with a target to build assets under management of Rs 1,00,000 crore by 2031.
- The platform will focus on HNI clients with investable assets of Rs 2 crore and above, and will offer services across wealth management, succession planning, private markets, global investments, and portfolio structuring.
- The company plans to open branches in seven to eight cities in the current year, and expand to 35 – 50 in the next five years, with a potential of opening 100 branches.
The Company views bank backed or private equity backed peers as competitors, said Pirojsha Godrej, the Chairperson designate of Godrej Industries.
“A lot of the participants’ incentives are not actually well aligned with their customers. So if you look at the banking industry as a whole, which is, of course, a source of wealth advice for a large number of customers, they have strong requirements for deposits,” Mr. Godrej said
