Adani Enterprises acquires stake in Flipkart Owned Cleartrip

Target Date - November 30, 2021

After data centres and fulfilment centres (for ecommerce), Adani Enterprises (Adani) has further deepened it’s relationship with Flipkart by acquiring a significant minority stake in the latter owned Cleartrip – the air ticket booking platform.

Adani is the country’s largest airport operator and the subject acquisition is targeted towards complementing the same and to also help Adani in building a super app for the group’s customers.

How and when remains to be seen.

After building an extensive infrastructure franchise, Adani group in recent months has been venturing into new emerging businesses and is destined to compete with the two major Indian corporate groups – Reliance and Tatas, other than directly and indirectly competing against the likes of Amazon, Make My Trip and many others.

Amongst businesses, who wins who loses remains to be seen.

However, the increasing competition would ensure that the good times for the Indian consumers would continue.
