Maruti Suzuki gets land allotted for a new manufacturing facility in Haryana. Phase 1 to be completed by 2025

Key points to note –

  • The facility is coming up at IMT Kharkhoda in District Sonipat, Haryana
  • This is Maruti Suzuki’s (MSL) 3rd facility in Haryana – other two being at Gurgaon and Manesar
  • The Company has got 800 acres of land allotted for this facility from Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited
  • Initially the capacity will be put in for 2.5 lakh vehicles annually
    • Project cost for this phase is Rs 11,000 crore
    • This phase is expected to be completed by end 2025
  • The capacity can be expanded in future and MSL’s final target is to produce 10 lakh vehicles annually at this facility
  • MSL currently has 22.5 lakh vehicles production capacity across its existing two plants in Haryana (Gurgaon and Manesar) and one in Gujarat (owned by the parent Suzuki)
