Trend of Co-founders and Key Employee resignations continue at Zomato.
Mr. Gunjan Patidar, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Company has now tendered his resignation.
- Gunjan was one of the initial employees of the Company. He had joined in 2008 and built the core tech system of Zomato.
- Despite being the CTO, he was not a designated Key Managerial Personnel (KMP).
- Reason for his resignation is not disclosed.
He is the 3rd Co-founder who has left the Company post it’s IPO in July 2021 (other two were – Mohit Gupta and Gaurav Gupta). Besides many other key employees have also left (or maybe asked to leave) in recent times including Food Delivery Chief and Intercity Legends Service Head.
Given the speed at which these resignations are happening, the Company should come forward and explain the exact reasons and the current situation. They maybe actually be doing it to institutional investors in private.
Retail however seems to have been left alone to act on it’s own guesses.
